When I later go to look for the paint the milk now is there so this has a work round. |

Milk is not in the shed during weekends which is probably the reason for the reported bug here as it seems that player resolved this by going back to get paint and likely went back on a weekday. Diane's story and code is getting reworked entirely for 0.17 so if there is something in the code causing this instead of player error then this will be addressed in the changes made in 0.17. |
