Somewhere along the line the save gets corrupted. Loading screen shows images of saved games but when I actually load a saved game it goes way back to (I guess) where the save was last inserted properly. There seem to be no indication of any issues only when I load a save. I lost a very long tedious play through where many save points became unusable. No matter which save I open it goes back to that last playable save.
This is a duplicate bug report. At this time, do not examine the pieces of the statue in your inventory, as it will revert to that point, similar to how the Pregnex would revert back to that point in .17.1. This will be fixed in a future update.
