You can whitelist the .exe/folder, turn off WinDef when you play and there's no update > you download the whole game every time a new build comes out |

Here are two screen snips. The first is the initial screen. The second is after I press the "more info" button. Not, it does not give an option to run the file after viewing the info.

If you right click the .exe and click properties, is there an unblock checkbox at the bottom? If so, can you try toggling that, then apply, and try again? |
