I had already noticed this behavior, but I was reluctant to report it as a bug. The simplest, most logical and elegant solution is to unlock the map, and display the infobox, once the main character is outside the house, in the front house location. The kitchen is not the place where the map is supposed to be openable.

The map is no more usuable in the kitchen on day 0 since version 0.19. Report closed.
